What is the Virginia Group?

The Virginia Group of CPA Firms, Inc. is an association of locally owned and operated certified public accounting firms located throughout Virginia. Our mission is to ensure that high quality, professional services are provided by our members. We achieve this mission by setting performance standards, providing continuing education, and requiring our members to participate in an independent review of their auditing and accounting practices.

Local ownership means member firms are a part of your community. They know your business and community. Thus, the firms are qualified to meet the service needs of their clients. Members and clients enjoy close contact as members serve clients in all types of business and industry. Through The Group, members have access to a network of information unavailable to most local firms.

The Group provides important leadership to the profession. For example, members have served on the Virginia Board for Accountancy as well as on the executive committee, board of directors, and other committees of the Virginia Society of CPAs. Nationally, we influence the profession by serving on the American Institute of CPAs council, its committees, and standard setting bodies.
